Teachers and abducted students from Ekiti eventually get their freedom back

The teachers and students of the Apostolic Faith Group of Schools in Emure-Ekiti, Ekiti State, who were abducted by armed persons lately, have been freed.

At this time, News360 Info is unable to confirm if the victims who regained their freedom on Sunday morning at around two in the morning were saved by security personnel or freed following the payment of a ransom.

However, the kidnappers had wanted N100 million in exchange for the victims’ release; when this demand was not met, there were rumors that the kidnappers had threatened to kill the students.

The children and their teachers were abducted by the assailants on Monday evening.

Unconfirmed reports emerged on Saturday stating that the victims had been released but the police swiftly debunked the report.
