A Tribe Called Judah, distributed nationwide by Film One, began its theatrical run on December 15, 2023, breaking the previous record theater ticket figures of Sugar Rush and King, with 231,053 admissions and an astounding N1.02 billion in gross earnings.

Funke Akindele, dubbed “the box office queen,” has previously enjoyed success with films such as “Omo Ghetto: The Saga,” which grossed N636 million in 2020, and “Battle on Buka Street,” which grossed N668 million in 2022.

The billionnaira record, formerly held by Hollywood’s “Black Panther 2” at N1.04 billion, is a remarkable achievement for Nigeria’s film industry.
