‘It’s Time’ – Peter Obi Sends Message To ‘Obidients’ Over INEC’s Refusal To Allow LP Access BVAS

The Labour Party (LP) presidential candidate, Peter Obi, has sent a message to his supporters amidst the refusal of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to his lawyers and agents to inspect the Bimodal Voter Authentication System (BVAS) machines alongside other electoral materials.

News360 Info had earlier reported that the party’s Presidential Campaign Council Chief Spokesman, Tanko Yunusa, in a statement on Saturday, revealed that the electoral body has decided which court orders to obey and which to disregard.

While threatening to unleash LP supporters, popularly called Obidients, Yunusa noted that the party will engage in non-violent protest to curtail the flagrant disobedience to court orders by INEC.

In a post via Twitter on Sunday, the former governor of Anambra State said the reconfiguration of BVAS has become the watchword of today.

He, therefore, appealed to supporters that it is time to enforce the court ruling through basic values acceptable to society.

He tweeted: “As the reconfiguration of BVAS has become our watchword today, I humbly appeal to Nigerians that it’s time to Reconfigure our own BVAS “BASIC VALUES ACCEPTABLE TO SOCIETY” Have a nice Sunday and may God Almighty bless Nigeria”

Wike Trying To Be Nice To Peter Obi
Meanwhile, a lawmaker of the 8th National Assembly, Shehu Sani, has reacted to the sudden ‘romance’ between the Governor of Rivers State, Nyesom Wike and the candidate of the Labour Party in the just concluded presidential election, Peter Obi.

Recall that Obi, alongside other top contenders, lost the February 25th presidential election to the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate, Bola Tinubu.

Rivers was one of the states won massively by Tinubu during the election. There have been speculations that Governor Wike, a chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) helped the APC candidate win in the state despite their political difference.

Before the elections, Wike had vowed to work against his party’s candidate, Atiku Abubakar, but refused to name the candidate he would be supporting openly.

However, days after the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) issued a Certificate of Return to Tinubu, Wike on Saturday said Obi was his hero of the February 25th presidential election, saying that the former Governor of Anambra State ensured a president-elect of the Southern extraction emerged.

Reacting to Wike’s statement, Senator Sani said the Rivers State Governor’s relationship with Obi could be likened to that of a man who jilted his lover and is trying to pacify her after marrying another lady.

The Kaduna State politician believed Wike was trying to be friendly with Obi and his supporters when he had supported and shifted camp to Tinubu during the presidential election.
