We Are Not Kidnappers, IPOB Cries Out, Debunks Police Report Of Arrest Of ESN Member In Katsina

The Indigenous People of Biafra(IPOB) has reiterated that the separatist group doesn’t involve in any kidnapping activities as claimed by the Nigerian Police Force.

It has been reported that the proscribed organization said it has never engaged in kidnapping, and that any claim of such was outside its mandate.

The group said the recent claim by the Katsina State Police Command about the arrest of a member of its security outfit, Eastern Security Network (ESN) in the state is not only laughable but also demeaning of the police institution.

The IPOB’s reaction follows a police report by the Katsina Police Command claiming to have arrested a member of ESN in the state.

On Wednesday, the Katsina State Command of the Nigeria Police Force said its men apprehended a suspected Eastern Security Network (ESN) member.

The command’s spokesman, SP Gambo Isah, confirmed this to newsmen while parading the suspect alongside other suspects arrested for various crimes in the state.

The command’s spokesman, SP Gambo Isah, confirmed this to newsmen while parading the suspect alongside other suspects arrested for various crimes in the state.

Isah identified the suspected ESN member as David Eric Uchenna, who, according to him, also goes by the name Ibrahim Muhammed.

He explained that the 19-year-old suspect was arrested at Kofar Sauri Quarters within the Katsina metropolis.

However, News360 info gathered that IPOB in its reaction to the claim in a statement signed on Thursday by its Publicity Secretary, Emma Powerful, said ESN operatives’ mandate is to protect land and forests as well as Biafran farmers from terror herdsmen invasion and will never be involved in the kidnapping.
