Goodluck Jonathan’s Cousin Regains Freedom From Kidnappers Den

The cousin of former President Goodluck Jonathan, Jephthah Robert, has regained his freedom barely two weeks after he was kidnapped by some unknown gunmen in Bayelsa State.

News360 Info had earlier reported that Robert was kidnapped in front of his house on a Tuesday morning and taken to an unknown location.

However, in a terse statement made available to newsmen on Monday, the victim’s younger brother, Azibaola Robert said his brother’s captors have released him from their custody.

Reporting the victim’s release, a media aide to Robert’s brother, Austin Ekeinde, said, “We give all the thanks to God for the safe return of our brother Jephthah Robert Yekorogha, from the kidnappers’ den.”

Meanwhile, the Okene Area Command of the Nigerian Police Force in Kogi State was invaded by gunmen in the late hours of Sunday.

According to the Commissioner of Information in the state, Kingsley Fanwo, the gunmen were more than 30 in number.

The statement read, “The Kogi State Government wishes to report that the Okene Area Command of the Nigerian Police Force was attacked by gunmen numbering over 30 in the late hours of Sunday, February 6, 2020.

However, they were shown the strength and efficacy of the Kogi security architecture as the local hunters, men of the State Vigilante Service collaborated with other security operatives to spontaneously foil the attack.”
