The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission has detained the Managing Director of Medview Airline, Muneer Bankole, over alleged diversion of Hajj funds.
According to available information, the MD of the airline arrived at the headquarters of the EFCC at about 11am on Monday.
As at press time, Bankole was still with the anti-graft agency.
He was invited by the anti-graft agency over a case of alleged diversion of 50 per cent of funds paid to him by the National Hajj Commission and additional $900,000 for the airlift of pilgrims in 2019.
He allegedly received the funds as mobilisation, but did not execute the contract.
The spokesman of the EFCC, Wilson Uwujaren, has confirmed the development to newsmen.
