40 #OccupyLekkiTollGate protesters granted bail in the sum of 100,000 Naira each with a surety in like sum.
Popular comedian, Debo Adebayo also known as Mr. Macaroni, who was arrested earlier today was among the 40 protesters who were granted bail.
However, we reported earlier that two Lekki lawyers condemned the incident claiming they had commenced efforts to free the protesters and ensure that their fundamental rights were not violated.
As at the time of writing, it was not ascertained if it was the lawyers’ efforts that lead to their freedom.
I would also be recalled that the Buhari administration has earlier warned of severe consequences for anyone who took part in the demonstration after seeing it as an attempt to destabilize public peace.
