Nigeria’s Coronavirus cases hit 97 with 16 new confirmations

The Federal Government has confirmed that the total cases of COVID-19 (coronavirus) in the country as at 10:51pm, on Saturday, March 28, was 97 with 16 new cases.

The confirmation, which was announced on the twitter handle of the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC), stated that seven new cases were recorded in Lagos State, two cases in FCT, four cases in Oyo State, one case in Osun State, while Benue and Kaduna states recorded its first case each.

The handle, which earlier disclosed the first set of eight cases at about 4pm read thus: “8 new cases of #COVID19 have been reported in Nigeria, 7 in Lagos and 1 in Benue State.
“As at 04:00 pm 28th March there are 89 confirmed cases of #COVID19 reported in Nigeria with 1 death.”

An update later in the night revealed a fresh set of eight confirmed cases saying: “As at 10:40 pm 28th March, there are 97 confirmed cases, 1 death

“Eight new cases of #COVID19 have been reported in Nigeria; 2 in FCT, 4 in Oyo, 1 in Kaduna and 1 in Osun State.”

A further breakdown on the social media platform revealed that Lagos has 59 cases, FCT 16 cases, Ogun has 3 cases, Oyo has 7 cases, Enugu, Bauchi, Osun and Edo states  have 2 cases each, while Ekiti, Rivers, Kaduna and Benue State have one recorded case each.
