Coronavirus: Lagos state declares 14-day holiday for civil servants

The Governor of Lagos State, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, has declared 14 days holiday for civil servants in the state.

Sanwo-Olu disclosed this at a periodical briefing at the State House in Marina on Sunday.
The governor said the move was aimed at curbing the effect of coronavirus in the state.
He said: “Lagos State civil servants from Grade Level 1 to 12 should stay at home for the next 14 days with effect from tomorrow, 23rd of March, 2020.”

Sanwo-Olu thanked religious leaders for cooperating with the state in the fight against the pandemic.

He said: “We have noticed that some mosques were closed on Friday and some churches today (Sunday) members worshipped from home.

“We also want use this opportunity to urge our traditional leaders to sensitise their communities on the need to avoid public gatherings.”

Sanwo-Olu àlso warned against the fake news on the social media.
