There was bedlam at the Iyana-Ipaja area of Alimosho Local Government, Lagos following a clash between police and angry Okada riders over the ongoing enforcement of restrictions on commercial motorcycles and tricycles in the state.
Although the exact cause of the mayhem could not be ascertained as at the time of filing this report, it was learnt that motorcycle operators, popularly called Okada riders, clashed with officers of Nigeria Police attached to the Lagos Taskforce on enforcement.
It was also learnt that chaos started as a protest over which area the law was meant to be enforced before it snowballed into mayhem where bonfires were made and traders and residents were forced to scamper for safety.

Property was destroyed, buses being burnt and innocent passersby were harassed and injured by Okada riders as well as miscreants who also took advantage of ensuing fracas.
According to witnesses, the mayhem broke out when police and task force members came to arrest commercial motorcycles and tricycles who had flouted the restriction.
