Toilet explosion kills one and injures seven after fatal build-up of HUMAN WASTE [VIDEO]

An exploding toilet caused by the build-up of sewer gas has killed one person and injured seven others in a devastating blast.

A deadly concoction of methane, ammonia and hydrogen sulphide from a build-up of human waste sparked the lethal explosion which blasted toilet debris into the sky making the scene look like an earthquake zone.

Two of the injured have been discharged from hospital following the horrific New Year’s Eve incident in Yulin, China, while five are being treated for injuries, including broken bones.

According to Cnwest.com, none of the five in hospital is in a life-threatening condition.

Dramatic mobile phone footage has since emerged showing the aftermath of the blast and the streets left covered in rubble.

The tragic toilet explosion comes days after it was announced that China would be going through a “toilet revolution” to transform facilities in the region.

Officials announced on December 27 that as many as 100,000 public toilets would be revamped over the next four years following concerns over sub-standard toilet standards.

But many in China continue to use facilities which are dry pits exposed to the air.

People have since vented concerns about toilet safety on social media site Weibo.

“What if I dropped my cigarette butt into the toilet?” asked one user, while another commented: “Was there anyone smoking while they use the toilet?”

Another wrote: “I could not help [but] laugh when I read this.”
