A British woman, Stephanie Littlewood, from Leeds has revealed her shocking injuries five months after her ‘monster’ boyfriend almost beat her to death – because she said she wasn’t in the mood.
The 32-year-old partner, Wayne Hoban beat her black blue in a 45 minute long attack that her jaw broken, three teeth knocked out and finally left her unconscious.
However, months on from the attack in April, the victim states she refuses to hide away, and uploaded ten images of her black, blue and bloodied face on Facebook. The post has since been shared an enormous 100,000 times.
The mother-of-one said: ‘I posted the pictures online so everybody knows to stay away from him and so people are aware of it.
‘I don’t have anything to be ashamed of – he’s the one who should be ashamed. I’m not hiding away.”
‘He had had a drink and then took himself off to be sick. Then he started to get angry and began to attack me.
‘I have been left needing construction work on my bottom teeth and I will have to go private to get it fixed. His punches moved all my teeth sideways so the hole that was left by the tooth he knocked out isn’t a proper hole anymore – it’s not a big enough gap to fit a tooth in.
‘At first I didn’t want to go out – I had so much anxiety, it knocked my confidence loads. But people kept telling me I couldn’t hide away and it wasn’t my fault and I started to realise that they were right.
‘He should be the one that’s ashamed – not me. I don’t have anything to be ashamed of.
‘That’s the most important thing I’ve learned and want to tell other people who are going through this – keeping it in doesn’t help, it’s better to speak out about it.”
Hoban was given 16 months in prison after pleading guilty to a lesser charge of unlawful wounding but, because he’s been on remand for six months, Steph believes he’ll be released after just eight months – in just two months’ time.
She said: ‘It’s disgusting. I was told that his family were cheering and screaming when he was told he had got 16 months. Every day I have to deal with the effects of what he’s done. Every time I brush my teeth I look in the mirror and see what he did to me.
‘I’m still dealing with this on a day-to-day basis and it’s disgusting to think he’ll be out in two months’ time. I’ll still be suffering while he’s walking free.
Warning others who may get into a relationship with her attacked in the future, she added: ‘If he’s done it once, he’ll do it again. Stay away from him.
‘And to anyone else going through this – don’t hide away.’
