No Plans To Sack 30 AIGs – PSC

The Police Service Commission (PSC), has described as untrue reports that some 30 Assistant Inspectors-General of Police (AIGs), will be retired.
Speaking in a brief telephone conversation with ‘New Telegraph’ Monday night, the Commissioner in charge of public affairs, Dame Comfort Obi, said there was nothing of the sort at the PSC.
This is even as the Acting Inspector-General of Police (IGP), Mr. Ibrahim Idris, had earlier said the report was speculative.
“It is not true. It is the Police Service Commission that retires, and if the names are not with us, then it is not true.
“There are all kinds of speculation; as at this evening that I left office, there was nothing like that,” Obi told us.
