The Kaduna State Commissioner for Education, Prof. Jonathan Andrew Nok, is dead.
He died in the early hours of today after a brief illness.
He was born on 11 February 1962 and hailed from Nok Village in Jaba Local Government Area of Kaduna State.
Until his appointment as the Commissioner of Health and Human Services; and later Commissioner for Education by Governor Nasir el-Rufai, Nok (MFR), was a professor of Biochemistry at Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria.
The brilliant Commissioner of Education, Professor Nok, was said to be the first person in the world to discover the gene responsible for an enzyme which causes sleeping sickness.
