After the heavy artillery that bombarded the home of the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) at Afaraukwu which lasted for about 30 to 45 minutes, four people were reported killed, 15 were arrested while scores lay wounded. Those who were killed, arrested or wounded were among the IPOB members who work directly with the leader. One of Kanu’s siblings, Fineboy, confirmed the killing and arrest to newsmen.
However, the whereabout of the of the leader was not known. As a result of the heavy gunfire residents of the state had to flee their offices and shops. As early as 5pmyesterday the streets of the capital city were deserted. Kanu was last seen in public on Monday when he addressed journalists on the attempted invasion of his home.
