PSC dismisses 95 staff

There were strong indications Tuesday that the Police Service Commission (PSC), has terminated the appointments of 95 staff, who were reinstated by a judgement of the National Industrial Court (NIC).

According to New Telegraph, the letters of termination were issued to the affected staff last Friday.
The letter said the action was in line with Public Service Rules 020801.
The said letter with reference number, PSC/L/PET/239/Vol. II, which was dated March 30,2017, read in part: “This is to inform you that your services are no longer required by the commission.
“Your appointment as Administrative Office II on GL 08 with the commission is therefore terminated with effect from March 31,2017.
“The termination of your appointment is in accordance with the provisions of the Public Service Rules 020801.
“All your monetary entitlements from the period of your engagement up to April 30,2017 have been duly computed and forwarded to the Budget Office of the Federation for payment.”
The PSC had yet to react as at the time of this report.
