Imo Broadcasting Corporation DG slumps, dies

The Director-General of the Imo Broadcasting Corporation (IBC) Owerri, Mrs Esther Obong-Egbuna is dead. Egbuna, an ace broadcaster died on Friday in her Owerri residence when she slumped.
Popularly called ‘Sister E” by her admirers, Mrs.Egbuna joined then Imo Broadcasting Service (IBS) in 1990 during her National Youth Service Corp (NYSC) where she excelled. She eventually got married to the then Director General of the radio house, Mr. Chike Egbuna.
Reacting to the death of Mrs. Egbuna, Governor Rochas Okorocha of Imo state described her death as shocking.
Okorocha said that late Mrs. Egbuna had proved to be a highly talented broadcaster and a big asset to the state in the broadcast industry and that he said had informed her appointment as the substantive Director General of the Imo Broadcasting Corporation.
