The Lagos State Government has announced that there will be temporary closure of one lane of the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway at Berger Bridge end between 1000hrs and 1300hrs on Sunday, May 8, 2016.
A release by the State Commissioner for Information and Strategy, Mr. Steve Ayorinde stated that the closure is due to on-going construction of a pedestrian bridge at Berger Bus Stop.
The release said that traffic officials have been deployed to the area to direct traffic and urged all motorists and other road users to cooperate with the officials in order to ensure orderliness during the period.
It expressed regret for any inconvenience the closure will cause road users, explaining that the temporary hardship is to provide lasting solution to road crossing in the area by pedestrians thus ensuring safety of lives and property.
