EFCC grills Nenadi Usman, ex-perm sec

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has arrested former Minister of Finance, Mrs Nenadi Usman and a Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Labour, Dr Clement Illoh, over allegations of financial crimes, report Daily Trust.
A former gubernatorial candidate in Bauchi State, Abdullahi Usman Adamu (aka Dan-China), has also been handed over to EFCC by the police have who arrested him earlier in Bauchi.

EFCC sources said Mrs Usman, who was also the director of finance of the PDP presidential campaign organisation in 2015, was grilled yesterday by operatives on money lodged in her account when she was senator.
She was said to have received N2.5bn out of the over N4bn transferred out of the Central Bank into various individual’s and companies’ accounts.
It was also gathered that N140m was allegedly paid into her Zenith Bank account in January 2015.

On his part, Illoh was arrested by the EFCC after N316m was traced to his Zenith Bank account.‎
‎EFCC sources said while investigating the Technical Committee for Ratification of MLC of the Nigerian Maritime Administration and Safety Agency (NIMASA), it discovered that N14.1m was paid to Clement & Bob Associates.

“Further investigation revealed that the said company, Clement & Bob Associates belongs to Dr. Clement Illoh, where he is the sole signatory,” the source added.
Adamu (Dan-China) was arrested over alleged N6.5bn fraud. As the Managing Director of Guroje Mining Company Limited, he was earlier declared wanted by the EFCC and picked up by officers of police Crime Investigations Department (CIB) on Monday in Bauchi.

According to EFCC sources, Adamu was wanted for alleged criminal conspiracy, fraud and obtaining money by false pretence to the tune of N6.5bn which  included $ 550,000.
Adamu’s trouble started following a complaint by Fengquai Zhai, a Chinese, who accused him of duping him.
