Agip oil pipeline: Mastermind behind attack arrested in Bayelsa

The Joint Task Force in the Niger Delta, code named Operation Pulo Shield, yesterday, said that its operatives have arrested the alleged mastermind of the attack on Nigerian Agip Oil Company, NAOC, manifold in Gbobokiri, Brass Local Government Area of Bayelsa State.

The attack, which caused crude oil to spill into the environment, was allegedly orchestrated by one Prince Alvin Oyegun alias ‘Commander Abula.’

Spokesman of the JTF, Col. Isa Ado, in a statement in Yenagoa, said that the suspect was nabbed at Idema community in Ogbia Local Government Area of the state.

He said: “One Prince Oyegun was arrested in Idema community, Ogbia council of Bayelsa State on January 29, 2016.

“The suspect was alleged to have masterminded the attack on NAOC manifold located in Gbobokiri, Brass council of Bayelsa State on January 28, 2016 which led to oil spillage in the general area.”
