Lagos State Police Commissioner Hakeem Odumosu paid a condolence visit to the family of the late Monsurat Ojuade on Monday.
The 18-year-old admissions applicant died after being hit by a stray bullet in Ijesha on September 11.
The bullet was fired by one of the state Criminal Investigation Department officers, Panti, who carried out an operation to arrest a theft suspect.
Odumosu was accompanied by members of the command leadership team and other senior officers.
The CP, on behalf of the Inspector-General of Police, Alkali Usman, and Force personnel in Lagos, expressed its compassion to the relatives and friends of Monsurat.
The commissioner expressed regret for the incident and prayed for the rest of the deceased soul.
He announced the name of the culprit, Sgt. Samuel Phillips, previously concealed by command as reported by DAILY POST.
Odumosu also confirmed that Phillips is undergoing an orderly trial and assured that justice will be served.
