There is controversy over the reported resignation of Abdullahi Adamu, the National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress, APC.
Adamu’s reported resignation has dominated discourse since Sunday night, but there has been no confirmation either from the party or the Progressives Governors Forum.
But according to Daily Trust, Adamu tendered his letter of resignation on Sunday night.
The report quoted a source as saying that the party chairman sent his resignation letter to the Presidential Villa, Abuja.
The resignation letter was said to have been submitted to the Chief of Staff of the President, Femi Gbajabiamila, around 4pm on Sunday.
The National Executive Committee and National Caucus of the APC is scheduled for July 18 and 19, 2023, in Abuja.
The party is also expected to hold a National Working Committee, NWC, meeting ahead of the NEC.
Adamu has been having a running battle with the National Vice Chairman, North West, of the party, Salihu Lukman.
Lukman, among corruption allegations, is also accusing Adamu of breaching the constitution of the party and running a sole administratorship.
He accused the Adamu leadership of squandering the 30 billion realized during sales of forms for the 2023 elections.
