Peter Obi Comes Under Fire After Making ‘Unverified Statement’ For The First Time

The presidential candidate on the platform of the Labour Party, Peter Obi has come under criticism over a recent post.
Naija News reports that Peter Obi took to his Twitter on Wednesday, to commend Nigeria’s Falconets for their efforts after they lost to the Netherlands in the quarter-finals in the group stage round at the ongoing Under 20 Women’s World Cup in Costa Rica.

He wrote, ”Our dear Super Falconets put up a decent game and fought gallantly at the ongoing Under 20 Women’s World Cup in Costa Rica, until they were knocked out at the Semi-Finals stage, by the Netherlands. We salute the players,

“The coaching crew and the technical team for their efforts and deep sacrifices. I hope that with our planned investment in sports, the team will be more formidable to do better in the future.”

However, the statement has earned him much criticism online as Nigerians slammed the former governor for making a blunder with the stage at which the Falconets crashed out of the tournament.

They called him out for not verifying before putting up the statement on the microblogging platform.
