Sowore Reacts As Police Officers Assault Odumeje, Demolishes Church

Omoyele Sowore, a publisher and human rights campaigner, has responded to the assault on Prophet Chukwuemeka Ohanemere during the destruction of his church.

Remember that a Naija News source had earlier claimed that the clergyman had been physically abused by Anambra state government representatives for stopping the demolition process.

Odumeje’s building located at no 88B Bida Road, Fegge, Onitsha, was marked by the Anambra State government for demolition in April.

The church building is reportedly sitting on a huge canal and obstructing waterways, prompting the government to order its removal.

Condemning the attack on the clergyman via Twitter, Sowore insisted that it was inhumane and a violation of his dignity.

He tweeted: “This attack on Pastor Chukwuemeka Ohanaemere “Odumeje” by soldiers/policemen is cruel, inhuman and a violation of his dignity, it amounts to torture and degrading treatment. The soldiers or policemen involved must be arrested and prosecuted.”
