Restored Edo State Deputy Governor Philip Shaibu has declared that he is fighting for the honor and status of deputy governors throughout Nigeria, which he feels have been disparaged since democracy returned in 1999.
Following a Sunday celebration ceremony at St. Paul’s Catholic Church in Benin, Shaibu said that his court triumph was both an act of God and a victory for democracy.
He underlined how important it is for the National Assembly to pass legislation that will protect the deputy governor’s position and guarantee that they receive the deference and respect they are due.
