Governors Prevented Tinubu From Approving ₦100,000 Minimum Wage – Lagos NLC Chair

According to the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC), Lagos Council, the ₦70,000 national minimum pay for civil officers that was recently revised is not affordable for its employees.

Funmi Sessi, the chairman of the state council, blamed the Governors’ Forum for the limited acceptance of the new minimum wage after the group insisted on receiving ₦50,000 during the negotiation process.

She urged Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu to take state employees’ needs into account while setting the new minimum pay.
