Bola Tinubu, the president of Nigeria, has sent a letter to the Senate requesting their consent to add ₦6.2 trillion to the ₦27.5 trillion budget for 2024.
Senate President Godswill Akpabio read a letter with the President’s request during Wednesday’s plenary.
According to the letter’s details, President Tinubu is requesting Senate authority to remove ₦3.2 trillion for capital expenditures from the Consolidated Revenue Fund.
In the second part of the request, which is attached to the letter, the President asks for permission to take out an additional ₦3 trillion from the consolidated revenue pool to be used for recurrent expenses for the year that ends on December 31, 2024.
