The ruling of the Supreme Court regarding the independence of local governments in Nigeria has been applauded by President Bola Tinubu.
The President stated that the Supreme Court of Nigeria’s ruling upholds the Federal Republic of Nigeria’s Constitution’s spirit, intent, and purpose on the statutory rights of local governments in a statement released on Thursday by his media assistant, Ajuri Ngelale.
Remember that the Supreme Court declared that state governors’ refusal to give up money meant for local government administrations was unconstitutional.
