The government of Abia gives street vendors until midnight to leave Aba and Umuahia Roads.

The state administration of Abia State, led by Governor Alex Otti, has ordered street vendors operating on recently paved roads in Aba and Umuahia to vacate the region by July 1st or face harsh fines.

On behalf of Commissioner Otumchere Oti, the Ministry of Works’ Permanent Secretary, Izuchukwu Onwughara, issued a warning in a statement on Thursday.

The government also declared that it was against mechanics who were using parts of the highways as their workshops and that they would take strong measures against anyone who jeopardizes the longevity of the roadways.
