According to the Uyo Zonal Command of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), eight internet scammers in the State have been found guilty.
According to a statement released on Saturday by EFCC spokesperson Dele Oyewale, they were found guilty by Federal High Court Judge Rosemary Oghoghorie in Calabar, Cross River State.
The guilty parties are: Abasiofon Other names for Daniel Essien include Jason Momoa, Godswill Nsikan, Gideon Junior, Edikan Ubong, Harrison Chiemelie, Ndifereke Umoh, Christopher Promise, and Effiong Wisdom.
According to the statement, they were charged with two distinct counts that included identity theft, criminal impersonation, and collecting money under false pretenses.
