A Turkish Islamic leader has been suspended after ‘pieces of cucumber’ were found shoved up his bum.
The 39-year-old ‘imam’ was rushed to the emergency room complaining of severe abdominal pain and bleeding from his back-passage.
A leaked hospital report revealed the vegetable-related scandal which led to the man’s suspension by a local branch of the Religious Affairs Directorate.
According to Hurriyet Daily News, a ‘crack team’ of medics in Turkey agreed that the bleeding was caused by a “foreign object in the rectum.”
The imam, from the Central Anatolian region of Turkey, was admitted to hospital on June 23, but was kept overnight as doctors treated his anal-injuries.
However, Istanbul’s Chamber of Doctors has slammed the leaking of the medical report and called the man’s suspension “unacceptable”.
