28-year-old man remanded for stealing N11m worth of premium Tequila in Lagos

A 28-year-old personal assistant, Oluwaleke Osayomi, has been ordered into custody over allegations of stealing and selling premium alcoholic drinks valued at N11 million belonging to his employer, Mr Patrick Osagie, in Dolphin Estate, Ikoyi, Lagos.

Police investigations revealed that Mr Osagie had entrusted 15 cartons of Casamigos Tequila to Osayomi for safekeeping. However, between June and August 2025, the defendant allegedly violated this trust by selling the beverages and diverting the proceeds for personal use.

The matter was reported to the Divisional Police Officer of Dolphin Estate Division, leading to Osayomi’s arrest. He was subsequently arraigned before the Igbosere Magistrate’s Court, sitting at the Tinubu Magistrate’s Court, on a single count of stealing.

Osayomi pleaded not guilty to the charge. Presiding Magistrate N.O. Wahab granted him bail and adjourned the case to August 22, 2025. Until he meets the bail requirements, Osayomi will remain at the Ikoyi Correctional Centre.
