Troops of Operation Hadin Kai have repelled an early morning attack by ISWAP terrorists in Azir community in Damboa Local Government Area of Borno State,
Sources revealed to counter-insurgency expert, Zagazola Makama that the terrorists launched the attack on the military formation in the area around 4:30 a.m.
“The insurgents came in large numbers but met stiff resistance from our troops. We killed several of them, though the exact number is yet to be confirmed. Others fled with gunshot wounds,” one of the sources quoted by Makama said.
No casualties were reported on the part of the military and sanity has been restored in the area.
He revealed that the troop are currently conducting mop-up operations to apprehend any fleeing terrorists.
