A Federal High Court in Lagos has scheduled March 17, 2025, for the trial of Lagos businessman Oscar Agbeiboh, who is accused of conspiring with an alleged accomplice, Eze Chinedu Vitus, currently at large, to produce 265 grams of Methamphetamine.
According to a three-count charge filed by the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA), Agbeiboh, 27, allegedly collaborated with Vitus on October 10, 2024, at Ango Beach Estate, Amuwo Odofin, Lagos, to manufacture the illicit substance.
When arraigned, Agbeiboh pleaded not guilty to the charges.
His counsel, Uche Okoronkwo, subsequently applied for bail, urging the court to grant his client bail under conditions it deems appropriate.
Charges Against Agbeiboh
Count One:
Agbeiboh and his accomplice, Eze Chinedu Vitus, are accused of conspiring to produce 265 grams of Methamphetamine, a narcotic substance classified alongside Cocaine, Heroin, and LSD. The offence contravenes Section 14(b) of the NDLEA Act, Cap N 30, Laws of the Federation of Nigeria 2004.
Count Two:
The defendant is charged with unlawful production of 265 grams of Methamphetamine at his residence in Amuwo Odofin, Lagos, in violation of Section 11(a) of the NDLEA Act, Cap N 30, Laws of the Federation of Nigeria 2004.
Count Three:
Agbeiboh is further accused of illegally dealing in the controlled substance, an offence punishable under Section 11(c) of the NDLEA Act, Cap N 30, Laws of the Federation of Nigeria 2004.
The case is set for trial on March 17, 2025.
