I’m committed to owning Gaza – Trump insists

United States President Donald Trump has reiterated his controversial proposal to take control of Gaza despite rejection from some European countries.

Trump said he is committed to “owning” the war-ravaged enclave, Gaza.

Speaking to reporters on board Air Force One on Sunday, Trump said there is nothing to move back into Gaza, adding that the place is a demolition site.

“But we’re committed to owning it, taking it, and making sure that Hamas doesn’t move back,” the US president said.

“There’s nothing to move back into. The place is a demolition site.”

Recall that the United Kingdom, France, Spain, Germany, and other European countries had recently rejected Trump’s proposal to relocate and take over the Palestinian-controlled Gaza Strip.

DAILY POST reports that fighting in Gaza started early October in 2023, when the Palestinian militant group Hamas carried out a terror attack on Israel.

About 1,200 people were killed in the attack and another 251 people were taken hostage.

As a result , Israel launch an air and land attacks on Gaza, killing over 47,000 people.
