FCT: Let heavens fall, I can’t be blackmailed – Wike threatens land grabbers

The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, FCT, Nyesom Wike on Thursday warned that land grabbers cannot blackmail the current government.

Speaking in Abuja, the Minister said he will not allow anyone take over government lands without approval.

He said: “Let me use this opportunity to tell Nigerians that we are not afraid of blackmail, in fact; you can’t be in this kind of position and not be blackmailed particularly as regards Abuja.

There are so many land grabbers, some of us have come to put our foot down and let heaven fall, it’s even better that heaven comes down now so that we will not be fasting to go to heaven.

Anybody who thinks that they can take government land without formal approval, we will not look at your face, if you like you can be a civil rights activist, if you like be a TV talker, but what is wrong is wrong, no amount of blackmail can stop us.

People take government property without approval or document and I have told people that there was a government yesterday which did not take any step, does not mean that another government will come today and would not take steps.

Even if this government does not, tomorrow another government may come and may take steps.

That you did something 15 years ago does not mean it’s right, the fact that nobody told you that it’s not right does not make it right.

You can’t use blackmail to get something from the government, you can not.
