Borno Varsity Mourns As Dangote Truck Crushes Final-Year Student, One Other To Death

A fatal accident on the Maiduguri-Damaturu highway has claimed the lives of two students from Borno State University (BOSU), sending shockwaves through the university community.

The tragic incident, which occurred in the Jimtilo area, involved a Dangote truck that reportedly lost control and crashed into a BOSU student bus.

Abba A. Massa, the university’s Information and Public Relations Officer, confirmed the incident, revealing that the collision happened on Wednesday as students were returning home after their semester exams.

Among the casualties were a final-year male student and a second-year female student.

Several other students sustained varying degrees of injuries and were rushed to two medical facilities in Maiduguri — Umaru Shehu Hospital and the University of Maiduguri Teaching Hospital — for urgent medical attention.
