Concerned over purported attempts to manipulate the bail recently granted to suspended Deputy Commissioner of Police Abba Kyari, the Arewa Youth Consultative Forum (AYCF) has voiced concerns.
Kyari is under trial on charges of narcotics trafficking.
The group denounced any efforts by certain persons to subvert the notion of bail during the accused’s trial.
The group stated that bail is the basic right that permits those who are accused of a crime to keep their freedom pending trial in a statement made public by President General Yerima Shettima.
Shettima insisted that Kyari was given bail in accordance with the law and that there was no proof he had broken any of the conditions.
