2023: Only God Can Decide The Fate Of Nigeria – Sultan Says Election Won’t Break The Country

The Sultan of Sokoto, Muhammadu Sa’ad Abubakar has told Nigerians not to bother about the forthcoming election breaking Nigeria because the fate of the country lies in God’s hands.

According to him, he doesn’t believe that the 2023 general election which people are painting as a make-or-break election for Nigeria would divide the country.

It has been reported that the sultan, who is the Co-Chairman of the Nigeria Inter-Religious Council (NIREC), gave this assurance to Nigerians at the NIREC 4th Quarter 2022 meeting. in Abuja.

News360 info learnt that the President of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), Archbishop Daniel Okoh, who is also the Co-Chairman of NIREC, said at the meeting that questions and doubts are being expressed about Nigeria’s capacity and political will to conduct free, fair, credible and peaceful elections.

However, the sultan submitted that he didn’t believe the 2023 polls as speculated by most Nigerians would be a make-or-break election for Nigeria, noting that “I don’t believe in that, I refuse to believe in that. It is just an election in that people will go out, cast their vote in peace and whoever emerges as the leader will be the leader of this country.

Let us have the fear of Allah in whatever we do and have this Nigerian project at heart so that we counsel our followers, we the traditional and religious leaders will counsel our followers so that we do what we believe is best for all of us as one big family with different background.”

The sultan admonished politicians and electorates to campaign peacefully and elect the leader they think is best for Nigeria and the rest would be left to Almighty Allah.
