Tinubu Visits Amaechi After APC Presidential Primary

The former minister of transportation, Rotimi Amaechi, on Friday hosted the presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress, Bola Tinubu.
Tinubu met with the former governor of Rivers State at his residence in Abuja on Friday evening.

This is coming after the former Governor of Lagos State defeated Amaechi with a wide margin to emerge as the presidential candidate of the ruling party.

Tinubu in the presidential primary gathered 1,271 votes to defeat his closest challenger, Amaechi, who had 316 while Vice President Yemi Osinbajo, came third in the primaries, gathering 235 votes.

Amaechi while giving detail of their meeting noted that he and the presidential candidate of the ruling party have agreed to work together to ensure the victory of APC in the 2023 general election.

The former minister said, “This evening, I received our Presidential candidate @officialABAT at my residence and we resolved to work together as one family under the @OfficialAPCNg.”

Tinubu has been meeting with his contenders in the just concluded presidential primary of the APC.

The National Leader of the APC is seeking the support of other presidential aspirants ahead of the 2023 presidential election.
