War: Germany, Hungary reject sanctions on Russia

Germany and Hungary have rejected a move to place a sanction on Russian energy.

German Chancellor Olaf Scholz made it clear that Europe cannot secure its energy supplies without imports from Russia.

The EU, United States and their allies had deliberately left Energy out of previous rounds of sanctions against Russia.

And Scholz said in a news release Monday that Russia energy is of “essential importance” to the general, daily lives of its citizens.

In a similar development, Hungary’s finance minister Mihaly Varga pointed out that his country would not be part of any sanctions on Russian energy.

In a video he shared on Facebook on Monday, the Minister also pointed to the substantial damage existing sanctions on Russia have had on Hungary’s economy.

“Those who ask for the expansion of the sanctions, want the Hungarian people to pay the price of the war,” he said.
