2023: Call Dokpesi To Order – Wike Warns Atiku Abubakar

Governor Nyesom Wike of Rivers State has slammed media mogul, Raymond Dokpesi, for allegedly spreading false news about governors elected on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

Wike, in a statement on Thursday by his Special Assistant, Media, Kelvin Ebiri, denied a text message allegedly sent by Dokpesi claiming PDP governors traveled to Europe to pick the party’s presidential and vice-presidential candidates for the 2023 election.

Wike urged former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, whom Dokpesi is backing for the 2023 presidency, to prevail on the media mogul to stop spreading rumors that will polarise PDP governors and stakeholders.

Describing Atiku as a well-known political strategist, the Rivers Governor stated that he has nothing against the former Vice president’s ambition.

He stated that Dokpesi is deliberating sowing the seeds of discord to ruin the chances of the PDP in next year’s elections.

Wike said: “I have always said to people in PDP, nobody should cause a division among the governors. We are trying as much as we can to build the party back and see that in 2023 PDP takes over governance.

But I have some suspicion that people like Raymond Dokpesi are not really sincere to the Peoples Democratic Party and I think I’m convinced that Raymond Dokpesi appears to be working for APC.

I don’t understand where Raymond Dokpesi gets this information, this rumour that governors travelled to Europe to decide who will be the presidential candidate and vice- presidential candidate of PDP. I wonder why governors will travel to Europe to take such a decision.”
