Biafra: Nnamdi Kanu Reacts To Court Victory Over Buhari Govt

The leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Nnamdi Kanu, has expressed happiness over the ruling of the Abia High Court.
On January 19, Justice Benson Anya had ruled that the military raid on Kanu’s residence at Isiama, Afaraukwu Ibeku, Abia State, on September 10, 2017, was illegal and unconstitutional.

The presiding judge added that the invasion amounts to an infringement on his right to life, dignity of his person, his personal liberty and fair hearing.

Anya further ruled that the Nigerian Government should officially apologise to Kanu in three national dailies and pay the sum of N1billion to the IPOB leader.

In a tweet via his Twitter page on Friday, special counsel to the IPOB leader, Aloy Ejimakor, said he visited his client in the custody of the Department of State Services (DSS) and share the news of the ruling with him.

The lawyer said the IPOB leader was excited about the news and anticipates more victories on his prosecution by the Nigerian Government.

Ejimakor, however, said Kanu commended all his supporters for their loyalty.

He said, “I had visitation with Onyendu today and formally presented to him the victory he scored from the Abia High Court. He was profoundly pleased that he has been vindicated and looked forward to the new opportunities brought by the judgment. He greets you all – the faithful and the loyal.“
