Flights To And From Nigeria Remain Suspended – Emirates

International carrier, Emirates Airline has announced that flight operation to and from Nigeria remains on hold
Recall that the Minister of Aviation, Hadi Sirika, had said that the Nigerian Government and the United Arab Emirates (UAE) have settled their differences.

The Muhammadu Buhari government had barred Emirates airlines from flying into Nigeria over UAE’s travel restrictions on Nigerians as regards COVID-19 protocols.

But the minister stated that the ban was lifted following successful dialogue with the UAE, adding that the country had also removed all discriminatory policies on Nigerians.

Siriki equally stated the ban was lifted due to the calls by Nigerian travelers to resolve the impasse with the Middle East country.

He, however, commended the understanding of Nigerians in spite of the hardships experienced as a result of the spat between the two countries.

Despite the Minister’s statement, Emirates in a statement on Sunday said, “Emirates direct flight operation to and from Nigeria is still on hold. Affected flight bookings have been cancelled.

If your flight has been cancelled or impacted by route suspensions due to COVID 19 restrictions, you don’t need to call us immediately for rebooking.

You can simply hold on to your Emirates ticket and when flights resume, get in touch with your booking office or us to make new travel plans.”
