Two and a half years after he was engaged, Thomas Tuchel has been sacked as manager of Paris Saint-Germain.
The 47-year-old German was employed in June 2018 to lead a team hungry for Champions League glory.
During his stay, he won two league titles, the French Cup and French League Cup.
Although he did come close to winning the UCL last season, losing the final to the all-conquering Bayern Munich, his employers thought his best was not enough.
PSG currently sit third on the French Lique 1 table, one point adrift of leaders Lyon.
Tuchel’s last game in charge of the club was Wednesday’s 4-0 trouncing of Strasbourg at the Parc des Princes.
