The rape suspect and his mother have been arrested.
A 5-year-old girl, Kadijah M. Saccoh has died after she was raped by her cousin.
The deceased and her 8-year-old sister had been living with their aunt in Freetown, Sierra Leone where their aunt’s son began to rape the young girls.
The mother of the suspect found out her son had been raping her nieces but covered the crime and hid it from the girls parents not until Kadijah’s death that the rape was uncovered by the deceased father.
.After her death, Kadijah’s aunt tried to bury her hurriedly. She called the father of the deceased to inform him about her death and for permission to bury her body. Kadijah’s father refused and demanded an autopsy to determine the cause of death.
According to reports, Kadijah’s aunt threatened the doctor to falsify the autopsy results but was not successful as the real cause of death was reported. After it was revealed the 5-year-old girl had been raped multiple times, the father asked for her 8-year-old sister to be examined and it was revealed that she too had been raped.
