Ondo deputy gov dumps APC, joins PDP

Agboola Ajayi, Ondo State Deputy Governor, yesterday resigned his membership of the All Progressives Congress in Apoi Ward 2, Ese Odo Local Government Area of the State.

This came some hours after he was restrained from going out of the Government House in Alagbaka, Akure, the state capital, by the state Police Commissioner, Bolaji Salami and his team.

Tendering his resignation letter at the APC secretariat in Apoi Ward 2, Ese Odo LGA, Ajayi said everybody knew why he left the APC.

He said, “I am here to officially announce to you that as from today, I cease to be a member of the APC. I came to tender my resignation letter to the ward chairman.

“It is a painful thing that I’m leaving the APC but there is time for everything. As a Nigerian, I have the fundamental freedom to belong to any party or group

“The people who voted me did not ask me to resign, so I remain the deputy governor of this state. I was duly elected as a deputy governor.”

Shortly after, he went to the secretariat of the PDP in the ward where he announced his defection to the party and obtained his party card.
