Odumakin files N1bn libel suit against APC spokesman

The Spokesperson for Afenifere Renewal Group, Yinka Odumakin, has urged a Lagos State High Court in Ikeja to compel the All Progressives Congress and its Lagos Publicity Secretary, Joe Igbokwe, to pay him N1bn for allegedly defaming him through a publication entitled, “Biafra truth be told.”

Joined in the suit filed before Justice Kudirat Jose is a Switzerland-based media consultant, Mallam Adekunle Kayode and one Today digital News and Media Limited.

Odumakin claimed to have been impugned through the said “Biafra truth be told” allegedly published by the defendants sometime in October 2015.

According to the claimant, the defendants had in the said publication allegedly categorised him among some people it described as “miserable election losers who go back to play ethnic politics and resort to blackmail, primordial sentiments, ethnic and subterfuge when they fail in national politics.”
