Adamawa Explosion Likely Accidental Discharge Not Terrorism

While security agencies are trying to unravel the reasons behind today’s explosion at a Divisional Police Station in Yola, Adamawa State, the incident might likely be caused by “accidental discharge” within the security facility.

A security source told PRNigeria that: “The explosion is likely caused by accidental discharge due to mishandling of explosive devises by security personnel within the police station.

“For now we are not suspecting terrorism for the explosion as the security agencies are currently investigating the remote cause of the incident.”

PRNigeria further gathered that the reason for public panic was as the result of the location of the Police station which is located in a strategic commercial area surrounded by a market, school, Prison Yard, Post Office and a TV station.
