The Ondo State Police command has arrested a 25 year-old man, Julius Olurunfemi for allegedly making an attempt to shoot a phone dealer at Akure shopping complex.
Olorunfemi was reportedly arrested at the Computer village, located in the premises of the Olukayode Shopping Complex in Akure with a double barrel gun, loaded with bullets.
The chairman of the traders’ association in the Computer village, Mr Charles Balogun said the suspect was handed over to the police by the traders at the market.
He said the suspect had come to the complex to repair his phone but later returned with gun and threatened to shoot people he met in the shop.
He said the phone repaired for Olorunfemi was later discovered to be his girl friend’s phone, adding that no money was collected from him by those who repaired it.
Balogun added that Olorunfemi had threatened to kill those at the shop any time he returned from the police custody. He, therefore, called for tight security in the market.
The Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) in the state Police command, Mr Femi Joseph said he had not been briefed by the Divisional Police Officer (DPO) in charge of the area.
